As a Southwest Oklahoma native, Katie Thornton grew up on her family operated cow/calf ranch. She started her career in agriculture from the time she was born. Katie’s family also produced wheat. She has worked on corn and swine operations in Guymon, OK for Hitch Enterprises. In 2015, Katie graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B. S. in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis on futures and options markets. Katie then moved to Amarillo, TX where she worked for the world’s largest privately owned feedlot, as the cattle accountant for Cactus Feeders. Katie met her husband, Taylor in high school. They met at a baseball camp that Taylor’s baseball team was hosting. Katie’s little sister, Dustie introduced them. From there they both went to Oklahoma State University and married quickly after graduation.
